Leaders Hit The Course at Asian Amateur
The halfway leaders at the inaugural Asian Amateur Championship, Jordan Sherratt of Australia and Korean Han Chang-won, have teed off in the third round at Mission Hills’ World Cup Course.
Yesterday, Sherratt recorded an equal low round of the day of five-under 67 to take the clubhouse lead in the morning session, before being joined late in the day by Han, who added a 69 to his opening 66 yesterday.
Among the early movers today have been China’s Zhang Xin-jun, who recorded 66, and Yang Fei-hao of Chinese Taipei, who had 67. First round leader Han Ren (two-under through six holes) and Matt Giles (two-under through four) have also made strong starts.
After the 36-hole cut came at five-over par, 60 players remain in the battle to earn an invitation to play in the 2010 Masters Tournament, with both the winner and the runner(s)-up will taking a place in International Final Qualifying for The Open Championship being played next year at St Andrews.
